熾天使，是在《舊約聖經》中提到的六翼天使，猶太教認為此類天使擁有人類的外表，在天使位階中屬於最高級的第一層，與智天使、座天使齊名。
中世紀基督教派神學認為，熾天使被看作是神殿管理者，不停的唱著聖歌，由於完全理解了上帝的慈愛，而以這愛和理解欣喜地燃燒自己，熾天使沒有固定的形體、面龐為紅色、軀體是火焰、長有六隻羽翼，其中兩隻覆蓋臉、兩隻覆蓋腳、另外兩隻用于飛翔，熾天使手持火焰聖扇，不休止地讚美上帝、在上帝的寶座周圍飛翔。
I saw the Lord, high and exalted, seated on a throne; and the train of his robe filled the temple. 2 Above him were seraphim, each with six wings. - Isaiah 6:1-3
Seraphims are six-winged beings described in the Hebrew Bible. Tradition places seraphim in the hi@ghest rank in Christian angelology and in the fifth rank of ten in the Jewish angelic hierarchy.。
@Medieval Christian theology places seraphim in the highest choir of the angelic hierarchy. They are the
caretakers of God's throne, continuously singing "holy, holy, holy". Because they understand God's love completely, they burn themselves with fire and heat, they have no solid forms, and they have red face, with fire on their torsos, and six wings, with two of the wings covering the faces, another two covering the feet, and another two for flying, seraphims hold fire fans in their hands and praise the Lord nonstop around the throne.
